Espresso Making

On this website we have shown you how easy it is to make espresso the automatic way, using the Delonghi 3300. If you are interested in the more “hands-on” approach to espresso making, I found this video:

Did you happen to notice that the more “manual” approach takes longer? One of the features of the Delonghi 3300 is that it has two (2) built-in stainless steel water boilers. The 2 boiler system means the Delonghi gets the water very hot, very fast, so you don’t have to wait 10 minutes for a cup of espresso.

Additionally, the Delonghi 3300. is fully automatic, so you won’t have to fiddle with any “handles” or tamp down on expensive pre-ground espresso until it’s just right. With Delonghi, you just throw in the whole fresh coffee beans, flip a switch and drink your perfect cup of espresso in just a few minutes.

Benefits of Coffee

Did you know that coffee is a health drink? It’s true. In a recent fascinating article in Web MD, the health benefits of coffee are discussed at length:

“After analyzing data on 126,000 people for as long as 18 years, Harvard researchers calculate that compared with not partaking in America’s favorite morning drink, downing one to three cups of caffeinated coffee daily can reduce diabetes risk by single digits. But having six cups or more each day slashed men’s risk by 54% and women’s by 30% over java avoiders.”

What’s so interesting about this is that apparently the more coffee you drink, the better, since those who take six cups or more each day seem to draw the most health benefits.
Apparently, this article is just the latest in thousands of studies which show that coffee – especially in large amounts – is good for you:
“In recent decades, some 19,000 studies have been done examining coffee’s impact on health. And for the most part, their results are as pleasing as a gulp of freshly brewed Breakfast Blend for the 108 million Americans who routinely enjoy this traditionally morning — and increasingly daylong — ritual. In practical terms, regular coffee drinkers include the majority of U.S. adults and a growing number of children.
“Overall, the research shows that coffee is far more healthful than it is harmful,” says Tomas DePaulis, PhD, research scientist at Vanderbilt University’s Institute for Coffee Studies,..”

The article goes on to say that drinking at least TWO daily cups of coffee can lead to a 25% reduced risk of colon cancer, a nearly 50% reduced risk of gallstones, and an EIGHTY PERCENT (80%) reduced risk of Parkinson’s Disease.
Apparently, there are tons of healthful anti-oxidants released in the coffee bean roasting process, and even the caffeine plays a role in controlling asthma and headaches.
The bottom line is that, according to the article, you don’t have to feel guilty about drinking a lot of coffee:
“In other words, consume enough caffeine — whether it’s from coffee or another source — and you will likely run faster, last longer and be stronger.”

So if any of you coffee addicts out there are feeling a little guilty about drinking your sixth cup of the day – don’t worry, it’s good for you.
